Stuart Whipps
Stuart Whipps is an artist based in Birmingham. Broadly speaking his practice is concerned with the aftermath of shift and change, whether this be physical, economic, social or other. His work deals with the impact on identities predicated on these shifts. Although Photography forms the basis of most of this work he is increasingly exploring other methodologies and materials. He has exhibited extensively in the UK and in Europe and was the recipient of the Observer Hodge award in 2006 and the East International Award in 2009.
